The Buffalo National River is one of the finest free-flowing streams in America. It traverses through the heart of the Ozark Highland Area. It provides for a variety of recreational activities such as canoeing, kayaking. hiking, fishing, hunting, swimming, mountain biking, horseback riding, caving, photography, birding and sight seeing. The Buffalo River was saved from those that wanted to dam the river back in the late '60's. Now, those of us that love the river, have a constant struggle to preserve the water quality by protecting the watershed. There are several groups such as The Buffalo River Foundation, Ozark Society, OMR and other preservation minded organizations that could use your support.
