The summer of 2008 brought my wife and myself to Horseshoe Bend Ark. where we stayed at the Crown Point Resort for a week. My wife loves to fish so being right there on the lake made her very happy even though she did not catch alot of fish, she did one big one that got away and another one that took her pole with it into the lake. I am a photographer and I spent my time shooting a variety of subjects from caverns to the Grand Canyon of Arkansas. One day we left early and drove all the way over to Jasper enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way. Another day I went off on my own and ended up at Blanchard Springs Caverns and got some interesting shots. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we plan on returning in 2010 and seeing more of this fabulous state.

We've had this group of six men come down to our other facility - Oak Ridge Resort for about 18 years now for their annual fishing trip. And every year they complained about a sink or furnace or something being broke and ask that my husband come down to fix the problem. Nothing unusual for any resort. However, this generally happened around six or seven in the evening. I was busy doing other things around the resort and would send David on his way. Well, after all these years I just learned that they were just inviting him down for happy-hour. At least this year they forewarned me that the sink going to have a problem! Ya got to love those fishermen.
I have a very close friend who is an exchange student from Japan here in Fort Smith Arkansas. We have tried to make sure that during his 9 month stay he is exposed to as many experiances as possible. Being from Arkansas we new the one thing we had to do no matter what was take him to the Buffalo River for a float trip.
We have planned this for many weeks and months and really he didn't know fully what to expect he had just gotten finished with three weeks of travel last month including The Grand Canyon, Vegas, Chicago and Monument Valley. We told him it was a great place but didn't give him to many details. When he arrived he was amazed. He thought it was comparable to the Grand Canyon which I think might be a bit of a streach but it is beautiful and unique. The cliffs have so many blacks and whites mixing togeather. It is quite nice and a lot of fun. Very much a world class place with great people running all the tourist areas.
Here are a few pictures from our trip these are from his lens.
This is from Mystic Caverns which is well worth a stop.
We rented our cannoes from Buffalo Outdoor Center. (They have a great bird there and if it learns fast it may be able to speak Japanese now.)
The waterfalls were really moving because of the recent rain.
