Protected Wilderness lands - Nature tamed with care
The Ozark Mountain Region
enjoys the privilege of embracing the largest and most remote areas of protected
wilderness in the Eastern United States and some of the most beautiful, untamed high
country in the nation. Wildlife, hiking trails, waterfalls and striking vistas are
abundant.
Baker Prairie in Harrison preserves the beauty and nature of the long grass
prairies that once spread across acres of America's land.
Bull Shoals State Park on magnificent Bull Shoals Lake actively protects the
natural beauty and wildlife of the region while offering visitors a variety of
camping experiences in scenic campgrounds.
Spend some time on the pages of our Parks and Nature section and discover more
about these remarkable national treasures preserved in the Natural State.
