Lots of Fish/Big Rainbow

The last couple of days have been absolutely GREAT fishing! With several groups the lodge was full and everybody was catchin tons of fish! After analysing the numbers, it appears the girls outfished the guys quite handily. Leah caught a four pound Brown on Thursday and  lots of rainbows. Her husband and fishin buddy also caught some fish, just not as big or as many! Today was a great day for Leah as well! This pretty little lady who wears a perpetual smile caught a ton of fish, with two twenty inch browns, and a huge four pound plus rainbow that was pushing 24 inches! She promised to send pictures and I will post them on my website.

Andy and his wife also had two great days and Mary Beth landed a four pound brown and lots of rainbows! Kudos to our guides who take such good care of the ladies! Everybody has a great time and there is usually some fun ribbing at the end of each day. With all said and done ,the high fish tally was 78 fish in one boat for Leah and Spencer. The big rainbow as icing on the cake!

The bird watching has also been great with both parties seeing the Bald Eagles nest and a mated pair with eaglets! The babies crawled up on the edge of the nest and hopped around a bit, making for great photo opportunities! The Great Blue Heron rookery is also thriving and I watched a baby being fed today. Boy are they loud! We have a pair of pileated woodpeckers hanging around as well {woody woodpeckers}. They are the largest woodpecker in North America, and they are a lot of fun to watch. The bark flies off the trees in chunks when they are at work! With four or five other species of woodpeckers around, and the hummingbirds and nesting bluebirds, we are living in a birdwatchers paradise!

A large group of repeats are coming up this weekend from Dallas, and they have high expectations on numbers of fish! If this weather continues to hold out ,I am sure they won't be disappointed!
