Waterfalls You Can See From Your Car About An Hour and Fifteen Minute Drive From Mystic Caverns

On a recent visit to my Dentist, he was telling me about some neat places to hike by Falling Water Creek. He was even kind enough to draw me a map. Well, yesterday, my friends Henry and Don joined me to drive down to take a hike on a beautiful day. We left Mystic Caverns and drove South of Highway 7 through the town of Jasper, Arkansas up the mountain, by the Cliff House Inn & Restaurant, on down to the junction to Highway 16 East at Pelsor. We turned left heading East on Highway 16 for about ten miles and then turned onto road #1205 on the left. We drove about two and a quarter miles and came to a spectacular waterfall right by the road!

It was about this time that I remembered seeing this waterfall in my Arkansas Waterfalls Guidebook by Tim Ernst. By the way Tim is a fantastic photographer and writes some of the best hiking guide books for Arkansas that exist (you can check out his website and purchase his books by clicking here). We continued approximately 3.8 miles past the first waterfall (I would be very careful going farther if you have a vehicle with low ground clearance because there are some rocks petruding from the dirt road) and came to another awesome waterfall on the left side of the road!
